How I watched Superbowl 46 in 2012 using a netcat stream from one Linux system to my home Linux system. Since I don't have cable at home, I decided to use the "power of the command line" to stream it from my office, where I have computers with video capture cards setup for media monitoring that we perform for a client. They use Hauppage WinTV analog cards. Since this happened the client has found a cheaper/better way of doing this than setting up hosts in every TV market.

Update for all the people wondering WHY? In 2012, when this video was made, it was very difficult and not free to watch the Superbowl. You either had to subscribe to cable, live within antenna distance of an affiliate station (the geographic location of Bloomington makes this hard) and the TV networks and the NFL hadn't yet realized that they were missing out on a significant market by ignoring Internet streaming viewers.  Recently this seems to have changed and at least this year (2016) CBS was smart enough to make the Superbowl available Live for more users. I was able to view it directly with my Roku at no additional cost.
